Upcoming Pre-ACT Testing for Students in Grades 8–11

This fall, students in grades 8 through 11 will participate in Pre-ACT testing. The Pre-ACT provides valuable insight into whether students are on track for college and career readiness, and it helps guide future planning and support. Freshmen will test on October 9. Eighth graders, sophomores, and juniors will test on October 16. All testing will take place at each student’s school campus. This will be the first year that eighth graders participate in the assessment.

The Illinois Department of Public Health requires certain immunizations and exams before students can attend school. Update on Welcome Center Property

At last night’s Board of Education meeting, the Board authorized the District to begin the process of exploring a sale of our Welcome Center building at 742 Greenwood Avenue. The District has owned this property for nearly 20 years, and it was home to student registration and evaluation services. Since the opening of our new Educational Services Center in downtown Waukegan this summer, the building has been largely vacant. The few remaining staff members will be transitioned to other District locations in the near future.

No spectators will be admitted without a ticket. Families are asked to please arrive together if possible, as saving seats for others will not be permitted. The breach, which was discovered on December 28, 2024, affected certain users of PowerSchool’s Student Information System (SIS). However, Waukegan Public Schools does not use PowerSchool SIS, and our systems and data were not impacted by this incident.
