Maintenance and Operations Department Welcome

Maintenance and Operations maintains, repairs, and operates buildings and grounds efficiently and effectively, and in a manner that promotes learning in a safe, clean, and healthy environment for the students and staff of Waukegan Public School District 60.

The Operations Department is directly responsible for the infrastructure of all 29 buildings within the school district.

We provide a safe environment for all staff, and students through regular inspections of facilities with staff and the Regional Office of Education.

We must be in compliance with all existing fire codes, building codes, and Illinois plumbing codes.

We maintain communications with all local fire and police departments and other city, county, and state agencies.

We maintain all Building rentals.

Operations employs 88 full time custodians, 20 temporary custodians, 30 full time maintenance workers with includes HVAC, Mechanic, Locksmith, Carpenter, Plumber, Assistant Engineer, Electricians, Asbestos workers and utility workers

Operations has 6 management, which includes the Director of Operations, Assistant Director of Operations, Construction Manager, Maintenance Manager, High school/ Middle school Manager, and Night supervisor, School Dude Specialist and Office Specialists.
