Surplus Equipment Bid Policies

Any bid that is submitted which does not satisfy all of the following conditions will not be considered.

  • To submit a bid users must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Bids must be submitted via email using the district's online auction form. (Faxed and phone bids are not accepted).
  • Failure to include all required information on the online auction form could result in rejection of the bid.
  • There is no fee to place a bid. A valid email address is required.
  • No bids will be accepted which are less than the minimum bid price.
  • The "current bid" is updated immediately to reflect the highest bid as of that date and time and a confirmation email is sent to bidders immediately following placement of a bid.
  • The award of an item will go to the highest bidder. However, the school district does reserve the right to reject any and all bids.
  • All items being offered for sale are being sold as is, there is no warranty or guarantee.
  • Inspections are by appointment only! Appointments are scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
  • All items must be paid for and picked up between 9:00 am and 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at the school district office within seven (7) days of the auction's closing.
  • Waukegan Community Unit School District #60 DOES NOT provide transportation, loading or shipping services for buyers to remove their merchandise. Any and all methods of lifting, towing, and hauling are the buyer's responsibility.
  • Items must be paid for by cashier check or money order only. Checks or money orders must be made payable to Waukegan Public School District 60. NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
  • Waukegan Community Unit School District #60 reserves the right to make changes to items posted for sale, if deemed necessary.
  • Submitting a bid constitutes a legally binding agreement between the bidder and the Waukegan Community Unit School District #60.
  • Items abandoned or not picked up without written authorization from Waukegan Public School District MAY result in the loss of future bidding privileges in Waukegan Public School District auctions.
  • If merchandise has not been removed by the prescribed final removal date, the ownership of the merchandise will revert back to Waukegan Community Unit School District #60 and may be disposed of or re-sold at the discretion of Waukegan Community Unit School District #60.
  • Bidders shall forfeit all monies paid to the district in the event awarded items are not removed within the prescribed timeline or other terms of the agreement are not adhered to.
