Welcome to the website for the Office of Academic Supports and Programs. It is the vision of this office to ensure that every school in WCUSD No. 60 is a thriving school that prepares every student to graduate from high school college, career, and community ready. We strive to provide students, teachers, administrators, and families with the support and resources they need to engage in deep learning around great teaching resulting in increased student academic and personal success.

Eduardo Cesario: Hello, I am Eduardo Cesario, the Deputy Superintendent for Academic Supports and Program for Waukegan Public Schools.

We believe that it is our responsibility to provide the highest quality resources, programs, and supports to meet the physical, intellectual, and social emotional needs of each student within the WPS 60 school community. Our efforts extend to providing support and professional development for teachers and staff members in order to continuously improve our practice.

In alignment with Vision 2022, our team utilizes data to continually adjust our practices in order to intentionally and strategically build the instructional leadership capacity of each principal in order to coach and develop teachers in an ongoing effort to provide the highest quality instruction to every student.

Some of our responsibilities include: teacher evaluation, curriculum development, diverse learner support, bilingual and multicultural student support, promotion, college and career readiness, family and community engagement, principal support and development, instructional technology, registration and enrollment.

Eduardo D. Cesario

Eduardo Cesario has most recently served as the Chief of Schools for Network 2 in the Chicago Public Schools on the Far Northside of Chicago. His tenure in the field of Education began in 1998 while serving as a middle school teacher at Daniel Boone Elementary School in the West Ridge neighborhood.

Eduardo transitioned to a leadership role as a resident principal after being accepted into the LAUNCH (Leadership and Urban Network for Chicago) Program in 2005 and has since served as the assistant principal of James G. Blaine Elementary, and more recently as the principal of DeWitt Clinton Elementary School where he was selected as a Chicago Principal Fellow and earned the ISP (Independent School Principal) status.

Eduardo is a proud father that believes that all children can learn and be successful regardless of culture or socioeconomic status. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science and Education from Illinois State University, and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Benedictine University.
