Ms. Keelean attained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Grand Valley State University in 1995. She moved to Chicago and worked as a gymnastics supervisor with Chicago Park District until 1999. She attained her Master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Loyola University of Chicago in 2002, and a second Master's degree from National Louis University in administration and supervision in 2007. Shanie taught with Chicago Public Schools for 11 years, and was a Math Specialist with the Chicago Math Science Initiative. She moved to Buffalo, New York in 2009 and worked as an assistant principal and principal in"turnaround schools"for six years with Buffalo Public Schools. After just 18 months of her principal appointment, she moved the school from"priority"to "focus"on the state accountability list.

Shanie maintains focus on data, root causes, student engagement and is passionate about urban education, school reform, and social justice. She believes all students can and will achieve at high levels, and works daily to ensure students have the support necessary to be their best. She understands the adolescent learner and their needs. She engages families, staff and students in gaining the supports necessary to meet students' academic, social, emotional, physical and psychological needs.

Ms. Keelean has three children, Ian (6), Lily (4) and Trevor (3) that attend Cooke Magnet Elementary that inspire her daily.

Mrs. Amanda J. Patti is a lifelong resident of Waukegan and a WHS Graduate. She has 19 years of experience in the field of education, ranging from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. Mrs. Patti holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University, a Master of Arts Degree in Reading with an emphasis on foundational literacy from Northeastern Illinois University, and a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis on Curriculum from American College of Education.Throughout her years at WPS60, she has served as a first grade classroom teacher, a reading specialist, a Response to Intervention coach, an Assistant Principal, the Early Childhood Coordinator, and the Director of Federal Programs. Currently, Mrs. Patti serves as the Associate Superintendent for School Leadership and Development (Area II) in Waukegan Public Schools. Mrs. Patti has led work on close reading, balanced literacy, school and district improvement planning, as well as coaching principals on the implementation of best practice aligned to Common Core Standards. As a certified trainer on formative assessment, she has also supported the work of grade level and content teams on the use of data to improve instructional delivery.
