New Co-Principal at WHS -Brookside

The Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60 Board of Education appointed Mr. Eric Hamilton as the new Interim Co-Principal at Waukegan High School - Brookside Campus this week. 


Mr. Hamilton replaces Ms. Avelira Rodriguez Gonzalez, who took on the Principal position at AOEC. Former AOEC principal, Ms. Flor Carter was appointed as principal at Abbott Middle School, following the retirement of Mr. Carl Hagman.


Mr. Hamilton has served as an educator and administrator in Illinois, for more than 30 years, most recently serving as the Assistant Principal at the WHSl- Washington Campus. He previously served as Principal at Antoich High School and began his career as a bilingual and ESL teacher at the former Waukegan Career Academy.


As he begins his new role, Mr. Hamilton is focused on remaining dedicated to student growth and development, a commitment to academic excellence, and to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all.
