Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60 has again been recognized with a Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for the 2020-2021 budget year, from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO).

The Meritorious Budget Award was presented to District 60 for “excellence in the preparation and issuance of its budget for the Fiscal Year 2020–2021.” Participants submit their budget applications to ASBO’s panel of financial professionals for review, during which they are assessed for compliance with the MBA Criteria Checklist and other requirements. As a MBA awardee, District 60’s financial team demonstrated that the District has successfully met the necessary program requirements.

Evaluators praised District 60 for its budget document for its wealth of information and stated the document “contains useful spreadsheets, charts, and graphs to help the reader fully grasp the data presented. The electronic document is a professional compilation that tells the District’s financial and strategic story and narrates well the changes to the District’s financial and strategic story during the global pandemic..”

This marks the 7th year that District 60 has been recognized with the Meritorious Budget Award.
