25 WHS Seniors Named 'State Scholars'

More than two dozen Waukegan High School seniors were recognized this month by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) as “Illinois State Scholars.”


Twenty-five WHS seniors earned the designation as an Illinois State Scholar from the ISAC. The honor is given annually to students across the state based on ACT or SAT test scores, unweighted class rank and Grade Point Average (GPA). 


Waukegan High School awardees included: Kenny Acosta, Melanie Antonio, Melanie Alexander Borland, Melissa Bueno, Raniya Dailey, Edwin Felipe-Pozo, Daniel Flores, Isabelle Flores, Patrick Flores, Marlenny Gonzalez, April Greider, Syed Hussaini, Albert Ilagan, Pedro Lopez-Vargas, Elisa Marban, Natalia Ocampo, Jesus Orozco, Noemi Padilla, Angel Penate, Esmeralda Perez, Aliyah Plummer, Jesus Ramirez, Allison Schaetzke, Mia Torres and Alexandro Zelaya.
