Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60 honored more than 30 employees, with combined service of more than 800 years, at the annual Board of Education Retirement and Recognition Dinner on Wednesday, May 8. 

The dinner recognized the dedication and contributions of  District 60 employees who will retire at the end of this academic year. The ceremony celebrated the lives and careers of many educators who have served Waukegan Public Schools, its students and families. A total of 36 employees, with a combined 810 years of service in Waukegan Public Schools, have announced their retirement this year.

“Each of these remarkable educators, administrators, and staff members have dedicated their lives and careers to the children of Waukegan. Their impact has been profound, and we can not thank these amazing men and women enough for all they did to make Waukegan Public Schools a better place,” said Superintendent of School, Theresa Plascencia.
