The Waukegan High School Theatre Department will debut its production of "Maricela de la Luz Lights the World" on November 14-16 in the Trapp Auditorium of the Waukegan High School-Brookside Campus.

Maricela de la Luz Lights the World is a play by José Rivera about siblings Maricela and Riccardo who leave a San Diego mall and find the world dramatically changed, including sudden snowfall and disappearing adults. They embark on a fantastical adventure filled with mythical creatures, a battle between gods, and a toxic fog, ultimately learning about heroism and the power to change the world within themselves. 

Performances will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 14, and Saturday, November 15, as well as at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 16. Tickets are $7. Tickets can be purchased at both high school campus bookstores, or online here.
