District 60’s Diverse Learner Department is partnering with local organizations on a series of online presentations beginning this month. Each session is designed to educate families on a variety of important topics and programs related to their child’s rights, and the various programs available to them. The sessions will be led by a variety of representatives from community organizations and are open to all.
Separate sessions will be held in both English and Spanish. Spanish dates can be found further below.
- January 11 - 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. - Six Principles of IDEA: Special Education Rights Webinar led by Family Resource Center on Disabilities
- January 14 - 12 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. - Understanding Autism - led by Resource Center for Autism and Developmental Delays
- January 23 - 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. - An Overview of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, led by Star Net
- February 8 - 10 p.m. - 12 p.m. - Special Education Evaluation: What Parents Should Know to Get Started, led by Resource Center for Autism and Developmental Delays
- February 12 - 12 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. - Autism Tips and Tools for Homes and Schools, led by Resource Center for Autism and Developmental Delays
- March 18 - 12 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. - 7 Considerations of Autism: ASD and the IEP, led by Resource Center for Autism and Developmental Delays
- April 15 - 12 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. - Visual Supports for Social Emotional Learning, led by Resource Center for Autism and Developmental Delays
- May 8 - 12 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. Not So Puzzling: Autism and Social Narratives, led by Resource Center for Autism and Developmental Delays
- June 4 - 12 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. - It's Go Time: Toilet Training for Children w/ Autism & Dev Delays, led by Resource Center for Autism and Developmental Delays
