District 60 staff, students, and parents have until this Friday, March 28 to complete this year’s statewide 5Essentials survey!

Everyone is encouraged to share their thoughts by completing this research-based survey to help identify the strengths and areas for improvement in our school’s learning environment. The results allow schools to better assess their progress and make informed adjustments. Additionally, the survey provides essential data for both the district and state, helping keep parents and the community informed about our school’s learning climate.

Parents can easily complete the survey using either a computer or smartphone.

The Illinois 5Essentials Survey provides a comprehensive picture of a school’s organizational culture, offering an individualized report that measures five key “essentials” critical for school success:

- Effective Leaders
- Collaborative Teachers

- Involved Families

- Supportive Environment

- Ambitious Instruction

Research from the University of Chicago has shown that schools excelling in at least three of the 5Essentials are more likely to see significant improvements in student reading and math performance. Past reports can be accessed by visiting the 5Essentials website and searching by school or district name.
