April 27 Remote Institute Day Information for Parents (Staff message below)
Dear Parents/Guardians,
On April 20 our District successfully hosted its first Remote Institute Day. It is our hope that by continuing to allow our teachers to learn and collaborate on new ways to implement technology into their instruction, we will continue to make online learning more engaging for our students while schools are closed.
It is with this in mind that our District will be hosting its second Remote Institute Day on Monday, April 27. Once again, during the day team members will engage in learning activities to enhance and further develop their ability to deliver and facilitate remote instruction and other services for our students. While staff members are engaged in these activities, students will continue to engage in learning through the WPS60 Remote Learning Days online portal. Teacher and staff contact/interactions with students will resume April 28.

El 20 de abril, nuestro Distrito organizó con éxito su primer Día de Instituto a Distancia. Es nuestra esperanza que al continuar permitiendo que nuestros maestros aprendan y colaboren en nuevas formas de implementar tecnología en su instrucción, continuaremos haciendo que el aprendizaje en línea sea más atractivo para nuestros estudiantes mientras las escuelas estén cerradas.
Es con esto en mente que nuestro Distrito organizará su segundo Día de Instituto a Distancia el lunes 27 de abril. Una vez más, durante el día, los miembros del equipo participarán en actividades de aprendizaje para mejorar y desarrollar aún más su capacidad de impartir y facilitar la instrucción a distancia y otros servicios para nuestros estudiantes. Mientras los miembros del personal participan en estas actividades, los estudiantes continuarán participando en el aprendizaje a través del portal en línea WPS60 Días de Aprendizaje a Distancia. El contacto/interacción entre maestros y personal con los estudiantes se reanudará el 28 de abril.

Dear Colleagues,
Our District successfully hosted its first-ever Remote Institute Day on April 20. It is our hope that you found the day to be informative and practical, and that you were all able to implement a new learning tool into your instruction this week.
We will continue to refine these online professional development days as we go, based upon the feedback you provided last week. Our District is planning another Remote Institute Day on Monday, April 27.
Our team has built out a schedule for the day, which includes webinars, live streaming, and interactive learning opportunities. Attached you will also find forms to sign in between 7:30 and 9:00 AM as well as forms to sign out between 2:30 and 7:00 PM.
As was the case during last week’s Institute Day, this self-guiding day of professional development is focused on helping you better facilitate and differentiate online learning for your students. Team members will engage in learning activities to enhance and further develop their ability to deliver and facilitate remote instruction and other services for our students. While staff members are engaged in these activities, students will continue to engage in learning through the WPS60 Remote Learning Days online portal.
