Three Waukegan student musicians performed at the Illinois Music Education Association’s (IMEA) District Senior Festival last weekend at Grayslake North High School as part of the IMEA’s District 7 Music Festival. 

The students performing over the weekend make up three of the four Waukegan High School student musicians selected to participate in either the IMEA Jazz or Senior Festival concerts this month. Student musicians selected  include: 

Brandon Carranza, Senior, Euphonium

Sara Lyons, Junior, Alto and Jazz Trumpet

Esai Torres, Senior, Jazz Baritone Saxophone

Ariana Garcia, Sophomore, Violin

These music students were selected to perform after auditioning for a spot in these prestigious concerts alongside other northeastern Illinois students last month. 

Brandon, Sara and Ariana performed at the District Senior Festival, in Grayslake. Additionally, Sara and Esai will perform at the upcoming District Jazz Festival on November 23 at Lake Zurich High School.
