Advanced Placement Exam Registration Now Open
Posted on 10/29/2019

Welcome to Waukegan High School’s Advanced Placement Program. Advanced Placement (AP) courses offer students rigorous, college-level curriculum as well as an opportunity to earn college credit through AP exam performance*. Waukegan High School strongly encourages all students to complete the AP experience by taking their AP exams in May 2020. To further support our AP students, Waukegan Public Schools will continue to fund the $94 exam fee in full for students currently enrolled in the AP course(s) for the exam(s) ordered.

The College Board has made some changes to the AP Exam registration process including a new timeline for students to register for AP Exams. This year, students must register for their AP exams by November 11, 2019.

How to Register for AP Exams:

  1. Students must join their teacher’s AP class section in myap.collegeboard.org. This must be done for each AP course for which the student is enrolled. Through the AP class section, students will have access to online resources including practice AP exam items. AP exams can only be ordered for those students who have joined an AP class section. Students needing assistance with joining an AP class section should talk with their AP teacher.

  2. Students must register online for their AP exams by November 11, 2019. This registration will take a couple of minutes and can be completed from any computer with Internet access. The online registration can be accessed using the link shared by AP teachers.

  3. Students with IEPs or 504 Plans may request testing accommodations through the College Board. Students/Parents should work with the Diverse Learner Coordinators to apply for accommodations by the January 10, 2020 deadline. For students in grades 11/12, contact Dr. Carol Hincker, [email protected] | 224-303-3390 and for students in grades 9/10 contact Ms. Teresa Clark, [email protected] | 224-303-2932.

AP exams will take place May 4th-8th and May 11th-15th. The full AP Exam Schedule and other important information about AP exams may be accessed at apstudents.collegeboard.org. Additional information including AP exam testing locations and how to prepare will be shared in the spring.

Students or parents with questions about an AP exam should contact their AP teacher. For questions regarding AP Exam Registration please contact Karen Frank at [email protected]. We wish our students much success in their AP coursework and upcoming AP Exams this year.
