2019 WHS Homecoming Week Activities

Waukegan High School’s homecoming week runs from September 22 to September 28. Below is a full list of home varsity sports contests, spirit week celebrations and homecoming events perfect for showing off your Bulldog pride. This year’s Homecoming Week theme is “Enchanted Forest.”


Friday, September 20

Homecoming Pep Rallies - 2 p.m. in the gym at both high school campuses. Homecoming Court announced at pep assemblies.

Homecoming Dress giveaway beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the Washington Campus


Sunday, September 22

Run with the Bulldogs 5K - 9 a.m. in Downtown Waukegan on the Amstutz. Use link to register: http://www.active.com/waukegan-il/running/distance-running-races/run-with-the-bulldogs-5k-2019


Monday, September 23

Bed Head (Messy Hair and PJs) at WHS


Tuesday, September 24

Grade Color War (Freshman - Gold, Sophomore -Green, Junior - Purple, Senior - Black)  at WHS

Powder Puff Game from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Weiss Field


Wednesday, September 25

Tie-Dye Day at WHS

Girls Tennis versus Round Lake High School at 4:30 p.m. at Weiss Field

Girls Volleyball versus Libertyville High School at 6 p.m. at WHS-Washington

Homecoming Bonfire begins at 5:30 p.m. at Waukegan Municipal Beach. Open to students, and staff. Homecoming King and Queen winners will be announced. Bonfire attendees must show a valid government or student ID to be admitted to the lakefront. Students are required to take shuttle buses to beach from each WHS campus and shuttle buses after bonfire.


Thursday, September 26

Poolside Day  at WHS

Pool Party at Brookside Campus Pool 5 p.m. - 7p.m. Free to get in, Snacks for sale

Boys Soccer versus Stevenson at 4:45 p.m. at McAree Field

Girls Swimming versus Libertyville at 5 p.m. at Waukegan Field House


Friday, September 27

School Spirit Day  at WHS

Last Day to buy Homecoming Dance tickets at school bookstores - $20


Saturday, September 28

Homecoming Parade begins at 10 a.m. Parade will begin at the Brookside Campus by heading east on Monroe Street, south on Lewis, west on Washington and then north on McAree, where it will end back at the Brookside Campus. Grand marshal will be Board of Education Vice President, Mr. Michael Rodriguez. Parade winners will be recognized during halftime of the varsity football game.

Varsity Football versus Libertyville begins at 1:30 p.m. at Weiss Field

Homecoming Dance at 7 p.m. - 11p.m. in the WHS- Brookside Gym
