Jack Benny Middle School is the namesake for Waukegan native Jack Benny. Through the years our school has been a part of celebrating the legacy of this world-renowned comedian and performer.
Jack Benny Middle School is a diverse learning community. We strive to celebrate all of our cultural and ethnic differences each year through various programs and assemblies. Our staff and students work hard to be engaged in a full learning experience. We challenge each student with a rigorous curriculum aligned with the State Learning Standards set up by the Illinois State Board of Education. Each educator at Jack Benny nurtures the students while setting high expectations of personal and academic growth for each student.
Students have a wide variety of classes and programs available to them. Our school is an inclusion school; every effort is made for students with special needs to be placed in the regular education setting. All students are instructed in the following areas: Math, Communications, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, and Physical Education. Jack Benny also provides athletic programs, clubs, and various activities for students.
The instructional staff at Jack Benny includes a Principal, Assistant Principal, certified Staff members who work in the regular education setting, special education setting, and bi-lingual setting along with the following support staff: Social Worker, Nurse, Psychologist, Speech Pathologist, Librarian, Counselors, Hearing-Impaired Instructor and Interpreters, Computer Technician and Para-professionals.
Jack Benny believes in developing children as students and citizens, providing them with the necessary tools to not only be successful today but to be prepared for high school and beyond. We are proud to celebrate the continual success of our students. |
