Decision on LEARN Charter Appeal Expected April 21

District 60 was informed this week that staff from Illinois State Charter School Commission are recommending that the Commission Board approve LEARN’s appeal at the meeting. The appeal approval recommendation does, however, come with a number of conditions that LEARN must meet, that will make it challenging for them to achieve.  READ MORE...
Clearview Elementary to Host 5K Run on May 2

The Clearview Elementary School Girls on the Run team will host the Race with the Hawks 5K on Saturday, May 2. The race begins at 9 a.m. and will take place on the neighborhood streets surrounding Clearview, 1700 Delaware Road. EPIC Preschool registration Event Planned for April 25

A special registration event for Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60’s Early Childhood Partners In Collaboration (EPIC) preschool program will be held on Saturday, April 25. EPIC Preschool Site Renamed in Honor of Robbie M. Lightfoot

The Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60 Board of Education voted on Tuesday night to rename the EPIC preschool site after former longtime Waukegan Public Schools educator, Mrs. Robbie Mae Lightfoot. The building will officially be called the Robbie M. Lightfoot Early Learning Center.   READ MORE...
