Little Fort Academy is housed in a large physical plant. Each classroom has 25 or 28 students depending on educational program placements. Little Fort houses three self-contained programs: monolingual, bilingual and gifted. Classroom clusters are designated mostly by grade level for teaming and integration purposes. All classrooms have been provided with monitors and computers from a district-wide technology grant. Also, all grade levels utilize a mobile lab of thirty laptop computers.

To complement our resources, we have very specific programs to facilitate the needs of our culturally diverse population. These programs offer reading support for instructional differentiation. The programs that we are most proud of offer interventions for the cognitive and affective domains such as: Community Service, Celebrations of Learning, Reading USA, and PBIS (P.O.O.L. of Respect). These successful programs are designed to provide the necessary skills for all of our students to be successful.

The administration on district and building levels supports, provides and encourages educational growth. The majority of the Little Fort staff have attained or are in the process of earning their Masters of Education Degree. The principal holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration.

The Little Fort philosophy is based on the following: the “Golden Rule,” treat everyone as you would like to be treated. TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) and the P.O.O.L. of Respect (property, others, ourselves, and learning.) Our mascot is the dolphin, which is the symbol of intelligence, community service, and respect. Our community of learning extends an invitation to swim with the Little Fort dolphins!
