District 60 to Release First Round of Bid Documents on March 21

On March 21, Waukegan Community Unit School District #60 and Fanning Howey will release bid documents for the first phase of the Capital Development Board project. Phase one includes additions to Carman-Buckner, Washington and Whittier elementary schools.

Procurement documents may be obtained through BHFX Digital Imaging, www.bhfx.net, beginning March 21.

The release of the documents will be followed by pre-bid meetings on March 30 at 9 a.m. and April 4 at 6 p.m. District officials and representatives from Fanning Howey will host the events in the Lincoln Center Board Room, 1201 North Sheridan Ave., Waukegan. Attendance at one of the two pre-bid meetings is mandatory for contractors who wish to bid on the project.

Interested contractors will have the opportunity to arrange site visits, which will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 26 to 28 and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 10, 11 and 13. Anyone wishing to schedule a site visit should contact Keith Johnston at 224-588-0918 or e-mail kjohnston@wps60.org.

Bids for the first phase of the CDB project will be opened at 11 a.m. on April 23 in the Lincoln Center Board Room.

Waukegan Community Unit School District #60 is in the beginning stages of a $37.7 million Capital Development Board project. The District-wide building program will complete additions to 12 elementary schools.
