Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60’s new Parent/Guardian Educational Workshops continue to expand, with the announcement of five additional classes scheduled through the end of the month.
The Lake County YWCA will present “A Description of High Quality Childcare” on Thursday, December 8. This workshop will begin at 4 p.m., in the Bradbury Room of the Waukegan Public Library, 128 North County Street.
The Lake County Health Department will present “Preventing Illness/Promoting Wellness,” on Friday, December 9. This workshop will begin at 4 p.m., in the Bradbury Room of the Waukegan Public Library, 128 North County Street.
The Lake County Health Department will present “Families in Touch/Teen Moms,” on Thursday, December 15. This workshop will begin at 4 p.m., in the Bradbury Room of the Waukegan Public Library, 128 North County Street.
The Lake County Health Department will present “Respite Care for Caregivers,” on Friday, December 16. This workshop will begin at 4 p.m., in the Bradbury Room of the Waukegan Public Library, 128 North County Street.
Waukegan Public Schools will present a workshop on Movement and Relaxation/ Stress Management on Sunday, December 18. This workshop will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Bradbury Room of the Waukegan Public Library, 128 North County Street. The class will help participants learn ways to improve themselves through movement and relaxation.
The classes are all free to parents/guardians of Waukegan Public Schools students. The workshop topics were determined based on a parental survey that asked parents and guardians what topics they would like to learn more about. The workshops will be held periodically over the next several months, with various community organizations presenting on topics of expertise. Dates and topics of future workshops will be announced as they become known at www.wps60.org.
