NOTE: The following text has been amended to reflect “First Bell” and “Tardy Bell” times at Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60 elementary schools and middle schools.

Wednesday, August 24 marks the first day of classes for the 2011/2012 school year for all first through 12th grade students in Waukegan Public Schools. In an effort to ease the transition into a new school year, and lessen confusion about pick up and drop off times, parents are asked to refer to the following information about bell times and bus schedules. Please note that the times listed below for busing are estimates, and actual pick up and drop off times will vary for each address.

Parents with busing questions are asked to contact their child’s school, or busing provider Illinois Central at 847-249-4100.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

Carman-Buckner: First Bell: 9:05 a.m. Tardy Bell: 9:15 a.m. School is dismissed at 3:38 p.m. Buses are scheduled to arrive at 8:55 a.m. and depart at 3:45 p.m. On half days, school will dismiss at 12:15 p.m. Bus pick up and drop off may take up to 30 minutes.

Clark: First Bell: 9:05 a.m. Tardy Bell: 9:15 a.m. School is dismissed at 3:38 p.m. Buses are scheduled to arrive at 8:55 a.m. and depart at 3:45 p.m. On half days, school will dismiss at 12:15 p.m. Bus pick up and drop off may take up to 30 minutes.

Cooke Magnet: First Bell: 7:45 a.m. Tardy Bell: 7:55 a.m. School is dismissed at 2:18 p.m. Buses are scheduled to arrive at 7:35 a.m. and depart at 2:25 p.m. On half days, school will dismiss at 10:55 a.m. Bus pick up and drop off may take up to 45 minutes.

Glen Flora: First Bell: 9:05 a.m. Tardy Bell: 9:15 a.m. School is dismissed at 3:38 p.m. Buses are scheduled to arrive at 8:55 a.m. and depart at 3:45 p.m. On half days, school will dismiss at 12:15 p.m. Bus pick up and drop off may take up to 30 minutes.
