The Board of Education for Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60 held a special meeting on July 25 to discuss aspects of the $37.7 million Capital Development Board (CDB) project. During its brief meeting, the Board took action on two items.

Board members voted to approve the schematic design for the Purple Package of the CDB project. The Purple Package is the third phase of the project, and includes Glenwood Elementary, Little Fort Elementary, McCall Elementary and Oakdale Elementary. The project will go to bid next month with an estimated cost of $6.8 million.

The Board also approved the payment of $31,500 in applicable permit fees to the City of Waukegan for the Green Package, which includes Clearview Elementary, Glen Flora Elementary, Greenwood Elementary, Hyde Park Elementary and North Elementary.
