Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60 and Fanning Howey invite contractors and industry professionals to attend a special Construction Trade Workshop relating to the District’s $37.7 million Capital Development Board Project.
The Workshop is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday February 13 in the Trapp Auditorium of the Brookside Campus of Waukegan High School, 2325 Brookside Ave. Representatives from Waukegan Public Schools and the architectural firm Fanning Howey will be on hand.
The workshop will be an informational event to allow those in the industry an opportunity to network and understand and see the size, scope and scale of each bid package. The first phase of the project -- known as the “Gold Package” – is scheduled to be released for bid March 1, 2012 and will include additions to Carman-Buckner, Washington and Whittier elementary schools. Later phases will target the nine additional elementary school additions, furniture and technology packages.
The Construction Workshop will also provide guidance to those individuals and companies seeking to obtain Minority Business Enterprise, Women Business Enterprise and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise certification.
