Press Release: 04-11-2012
Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 and Lake County United will host a special question and answer forum with the finalists for the Waukegan High School principalship vacancy.
The forum will allow members of the community to learn more about the four candidates who are vying to lead Waukegan High School. The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, at the Brookside Campus of Waukegan High School, 2325 Brookside Avenue. Parking will be available on the east side of the building.
“There is no doubt that a high level of interest exists in the community regarding the next principal of Waukegan High School. This forum will provide an opportunity for everyone to come out and meet the person who will be charged with leading the entire Bulldog community down a continued path of success,” said District 60 Superintendent, Dr. Donaldo R. Batiste.
District 60 leadership embarked on a national search for a high school principal in the fall. In recent months, the search committee has reviewed dozens of applicants, and conducted many hours of interviews, before reducing the applicant list to four highly-capable and highly-respected candidates.
The final four candidates will be present at the forum, where they will spend approximately 20 minutes each answering questions and sharing their viewpoints on specific issues germane to educating high school students of today.
With 4,282 students, spread over two campuses and nine houses, Waukegan High School is the sixth largest high school in Illinois.
