Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 will host a District-wide Title I parent meeting on Tuesday, April 17, to present elementary and secondary Title I Program Projections for next year, and to solicit parent input as the planning process begins.
The meeting is the fourth of a four part Title I and No Child Left Behind informational meeting series planned for the 2011/2012 academic year. This meeting will focus on Title I projections. The meeting will also review strategies parents can implement over the upcoming summer months to help students prepare for the next grade. Everyone in attendance will receive take home materials that can be used to support reading and math at home.
Title I is a federal initiative aimed at improving the academic achievement of disadvantaged school districts. It aims to ensure that all students have a fair and equal opportunity to obtain a high-quality education.
The meeting is open to all parents with children in District 60. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. on April 17, at the Welcome Center, 745 W. Greenwood Ave., in Waukegan. Translation services and refreshments will be provided. For more information, contact Ms. Loreta Garcia at 847-599-4246.
