The Board of Education for Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60 met for an abbreviated Special meeting on November 9, during which the Board voted to resume architectural, design and planning services related to the $37.7-million State Capital Development Board (CDB) Grant project.
The Board had voted to suspend the project during an October meeting, pending a review of the architectural selection process by independent counsel. On Tuesday it was decided that Fanning Howey, the designated project architectural firm, could resume work on the project.
The Capital Development Board Grant will help add a total of 116 classrooms at: Washington Elementary, Whittier Elementary, Glen Flora Elementary, Carmen-Buckner Elementary, Greenwood Elementary, North Elementary, Clearview Elementary, Glenwood Elementary, McCall Elementary, Hyde Park Elementary, Little Fort Elementary and Oakdale Elementary.
