H.R. McCall Elementary School is proud to house thirteen general education classes, six special education classes, and six bilingual education classes, pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, with a total enrollment of 450 students. Our school is diverse in terms of ethnicity, educational needs, and socioeconomic levels. McCall has received district and state awards for its student achievement. All classroom instruction is based on the Illinois Learning Standards. In addition to reading, mathematics, science, and social studies instruction, all students are enriched through the arts to include music, art, physical education, and computers.
McCall provides services and interventions to students in need. RtI (Response to Intervention) is a systems approach to maximize student achievement through behavioral and academic interventions based on data. Our McCall School Matrix is a tool which is incorporated in the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) program this year. Our Matrix outlines the school wide expectations for students in all areas of the school including bus, playground, and lunchroom.
We at McCall School are especially proud of our staff and supportive parents. Our Educators are highly qualified professionals. Our parents are active and dedicated in school activities and support school programs through the Parent Teacher Organization. Parents and staff collaborate as a team to address student's in order to be successful at school, as well as to become productive members of society. |
