Press Release: 07-05-2012

Recent Waukegan High School graduate, Kyle Williams will represent WHS at the 2012 Illinois High School Shrine Game. Kyle, a two-year starter at wide receiver for the Bulldogs, will participate in the All-Star game as a member of the West team.

The Illinois Shrine Game features some of the best football players in the state. It is hosted annually by Shriners Clubs from Illinois, and benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children. This year’s game will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, at Tucci Stadium on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington.

Kyle was an All-Conference player for the Bulldogs last fall. He was also a member of the WHS basketball team, and was awarded with the Athletic Department’s Leo Singer Award, which is given annually to a male athlete who demonstrates fair, dedicated and honest sportsmanship. He will attend McKendree University on football scholarship this fall.

“Through his hard work, dedication, and trust in our program, Kyle became a role model for all current and future Bulldog football players. The Waukegan football family is proud of Kyle and his family's accomplishments. We are very excited and honored that he will be representing us in the Shriner game and at McKendree University,” said Head WHS Football Coach Nick Browder.
